An open letter to American cities, towns, villages, and townships

Dear mayors, city councils, etc.:

Please schedule Trick-or-Treating for the Friday evening closest to Halloween, NOT Sunday evening and most definitely not a weeknight. That way, kids have 48 hours to come down from the sugar high before returning to school on Monday.

Thanks,

A Frazzled Guest Teacher

(Aside: Trick-or-Treating was originally scheduled for Halloween night in most localities around here, but due to crazy weather and power outages, it was postponed until last night. Twenty fifth graders hopped up on Reese’s and Kit Kats did not make for a productive Monday.)

Yeah, that sure sounds like a lets go to the park or gym kids and play some dodgeball kind of day. Gosh I loved dodgeball. They don’t play that anymore do they? Or Red Rover? Oh the memories….. 🙂
